Overview
Pak Accounting now has a Price Differential scale that allows for a variable deduction on a contract based on a combination of Gravity and Mileage. This is used in combination with Price Base Codes.
Setup
Company Maintenance
Under Company – First Purchaser – Advanced tab, there is a company option to “Enable Price Differential Scale”. Check this box to enable the option.
NOTE: The Pricing at Property Level should already be checked if you are using Price Based Codes. If it’s not already checked, it will need to be.
Scales and Rates
Once that is turned on, there will be a new menu item under Sales and Rate Maintenance called Price Differential Scale Maintenance.
Multiple Rates Codes can be set up according to the Mileage/Gravity combinations.
Price Contract
The Rate Code(s) are then attached to the Price Contract(s) under the Pricing tab, Price Differential Scale Code column.
Process
When entering in the Run Ticket, the contract will pick up the appropriate scale based on Mileage and API Gravity. In this example the API Gravity is 37.6, which is between our settings of 25 thru 49.99; our Miles is over 10 but less than 15.
Other
As your setting up your Price Differential, you can test it to make sure it is setup correctly.
Once tickets have been entered in, go to Property Maintenance – Price Contract tab, use the Price Test button in the bottom-left hand corner of the screen to see the values.
Reports
Reports – Pricing/Payment tab - P-10 Price Components Detail. This exports a real time detail of the pricing components on the run tickets.
