Import Cleared File

Importing a cleared file is a fast way to clear checks within a bank reconciliation cycle, especially if many checks are written on a monthly basis. Check with your bank to see if they offer a cleared file if you would like to clear checks this way.

Steps to Import a Cleared File:

1.Select the import type:  Excel/CSV vs Fixed.  Verify the import type with your bank. Check the box if there is a heading line.

2.Col for Check # - Enter the field position number for the check #.  If the check number is in column A, for instance enter "1"; Column B, enter 2, etc.

3.Col for Amount - Enter the field position number for the check amt

4.Assumed Decimals - If the import file did not have any decimals in the amount field, then you would use the assumed decimals option (i.e. if the csv file assumed 2 decimals, then the amount 44.12 would be in the file as 4412).  If it has decimals in the file, leave as 0.

5.Col for Clear Date - if importing a cleared date the date must be in the MM/DD/YYYY format and be within the current reconciling cycle date range.  If left blank, the date will be the last date of the cycle.

6.Click "OK" at the bottom of the screen and choose the file to be imported.
