1099 Company

Verify that the information on 1099 Company Maintenance is correct, as this is the payer information printed on the 1099's.  The non-required fields are: Extract ID, Name Control, Name (cont.), and Ext.

 

The fields which are not required on this form are Extract ID, Name Control, Name Continued, and Extension.  

The Extract ID should normally be blank. If you need to setup multiple Tax IDs, you should use a different Extract ID for each.

Regarding Name Control, this is for electronic reporting only. This payer name control can be obtained from the mailing label on the 1099 package that is mailed to most payers on record each December. Names of less than 4 letters should be left justified. If you have not received a package, or you do not know your payer name control, this field should be left blank since it is not a required field.

The "List" button will list a line for each Extract ID number. The fields listed will be the Extract ID, the Company Name, the EIN number for the company, and the Payer's Tax ID number.
